Drop-In Class Descriptions

Yoga enjoy this hatha yoga class based on solid alignment principles incorporating a balanced approach, vinyasa flow (smooth and fluid transitions), pranayama (conscious breathing) and meditation... for a strengthened yet relaxed state of being.

Pilates this class incorporates both classical and contemporary Pilates techniques. Deeply engages the mind/body connection and activates the "core" of the body with the breath. Very popular due to its rehabilitative benefits and ability to strengthen & tone the abs & back like nothing else!

Power Flow Yoga an energizing yet balancing vinyasa flow yoga class with fluid and progressive sequences of linking yoga postures (asanas) synchronized with the breath. Cultivates a strong core and maximum calorie burn...infused with inspiring music! This class represents a conscious evolution of Ashtanga Yoga and is one of our signature classes.NOTE: please bring a towel!

Kundalini Yoga/Pranayama Awaken your inner spirit, unlock your energy reserve and strengthen your outer body. Develop greater awareness as you incorporate  pranayama (breath work), bandhas (locks), physical postures and meditation into your practice. Suitable for the beginner and experienced practitioner.

Yin Yoga deeply relaxing and therapeutic. Facilitates supple muscles with specific passive postures that are held for longer periods to access our lunar, receptive side. This class is for anyone who wishes to stretch in a very deep way...restores balance & calm! NOTE: offered HOT (in a heated room) to augment a deeper stretch...please bring a towel.

Fundamentals of Yoga A class designed for beginners, and those wanting to deepen their practice with enhanced understanding of how yoga fits your own body. This class will involve exploring the family of asana (postures) that make up a typical yoga class, and how to modify them for different body types and abilities. Explore some basic yoga philosophy, experiment with pranayama (breathing exercises), and practice meditation. This class offers an opportunity for you to bring to class postures you are working on, or struggling with, so that we can explore ways to bring ease into your yoga. (replaces "Intro to Yoga")

Prenatal Yoga a gentle class focusing on prevention of pregnancy discomfort, preparation for labour/birth and facilitation of reconditioning after birth. Therapeutic poses, integrated with ancient yogic breathing exercises (pranayama), offer a balance of strength and relaxation essential for birth…and for life.

Mom & Baby YogaFusion specialized YogaFusion (blend of Yoga & Pilates) for new Moms with their babies. Focus is on postpartum reconditioning, gentle Yoga for Baby and a much-needed break from routine with other new Moms. (for babies up to crawling age)

Prana Flow Yoga is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga created by Michelle’s teacher, Shiva Rea. Experience prana - the universal source of breath, life-energy and conscious intelligence - as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living. Learn classical and innovative approaches to vinyasa flow yoga: cultivating inner and outer strength and fluidity, skill and intuition, vital energy and relaxed being, activation and receptivity through balanced and creative fluid sequences (vinyasas), a catalyst for transforming old patterns and paradigms of the body, self and the world to discover the potency and creativity within, a way of liberating the natural flow of the spontaneous intelligence, a cultivation of the art of yoga including movement, music, sound, visual arts and poetry to deepen the flow.

Elements of Yoga – Asana, Pranayama, Meditation This class is designed for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the elements of yoga practice beyond the physical aspect of asana (physical exercises). Asana is combined with pranayama (breathing exercises), bandha (energetic locks), and mudra in order to explore the energetic shifts that are possible when all the elements of yoga are combined. Longer meditation, including visualization and mantra chanting will also be utilized. This is the way yoga was taught anciently…facilitating a calmer mind, heightened awareness and clearer vision of your life and purpose.

Fire Pilates This unique class spices up classical and contemporary Pilates techniques to ignite your inner “fire” by concentrating on the “core” of the body. Deeply engaging the mind/body connection and using breath to enhance each movement with the ultimate goal of strengthening & toning the entire mid-section. Using a variety of different props, specifically designed to allow each student to “fire” up their core at their own level and incorporating twists for detoxification of the body.

Delicious Restorative Yoga (First Sunday of the Month ONLY!)
Enjoy a deep de-stress with restorative yoga designed to leave you feeling deeply rested, restored and rejuvenated.

Class Info & Guidelines

  • Our schedule is ongoing, all classes are drop-in and you are welcome to attend any class you wish. Please select the classes that are most suitable considering your level of experience and practice. We encourage you to try several different classes and teachers so you can experience different styles etc. We truly strive to offer something for everyone!
  • Simply arrive about 10 minutes prior to class time...no need to pre-register. We have both Yoga mats and Pilates mats available for you to use in class, depending on the type of class you are attending, however, we encourage you to have your own yoga mat and please bring a towel to HOT classes. Yoga mat rental is $1.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing and leave your shoes just inside the front door.
  • Class is ideally performed with an empty stomach.
  • Please refrain from wearing heavy fragrances/perfumes (some of our participants have fragrance allergies) and gum chewing.
  • If you are late, please wait until we have completed the centering (about the first 5 minutes) before entering so that those who are centering will not be disturbed. When you do enter, please do so quietly and unroll your mat without interrupting fellow participants.
  • Please leave cell phones, pagers etc. in your car or at the very least, please turn them OFF.
  • We encourage you to observe yourself and not your fellow participants, since your Yoga/Pilates practice is about you & your inner journey and is completely non-competitive.
  • Please note that class times have been co-ordinated to accommodate downtown Brampton GO Train Passengers.
  • Although our building has ample free parking, if necessary during the weekday daytime classes, parking is available on side streets.
  • Please let your teacher know of any injuries before class starts, whether past injuries or present ones, or any other conditions that may be a factor in your class performance and safety.
